The Ohio Undergraduate Psychology Research Consortium hosts its annual conference every spring, offering undergraduate psychology majors a unique opportunity to present their original research. This event brings together students from universities across Ohio to share their work, gain feedback, and engage in academic discussions with peers and faculty. The conference fosters a collaborative atmosphere, encouraging the growth and development of emerging scholars in the field of psychology.

Katie Wissman, Ph.D.
Presents: Attention! Exploring techniques that reduce mind-wandering during learning
Dr. Wissman is an Associate Professor trained in cognitive psychology, with a specific focus in the learning sciences. She received her Ph.D. from Kent State University (2016), worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Skidmore College (2016-2018), was a faculty member at North Dakota State University (2018-2024), and is currently a faculty member at Otterbein University. Dr. Wissman’s research investigates how to support student success and inform pedagogical instruction by examining evidence-based learning practices for inside and outside of the classroom. Recent research projects have explored student learning, collaborative memory, mind-wandering, creativity, and metacognition.
